Seun in 2016 proposed in his heart to be a better person by the end of 2016. He wrote down the areas of his life that needed improvement, which included losing at least 23kg body weight, being a chartered professional and saving a minimum of N500,000 at the end of the year towards purchasing landed property in the suburbs.
In January, Seun highlighted all that he needed to do to achieve those goals at the end of 2016 and started implementing them by going to the gym, maintaining a healthy diet, enrolling for a certification course and investing a minimum of N45,000 every month (20% of his monthly allowance). By mid-year when he reviewed his performance, he realised that he had lost only 9kg instead of 11.5kg, his certification course was progressing well and he had only saved N200,000.
To achieve his 2016 goal, Seun decided to cut down on his impulse and entertainment expenses (TGIF, Cinemas,Nkwobi, gadgets etc.) to enable him invest more of his income and also reduce his calories intake.
On precisely December 24, 2016, Seun reflected on his achievements for the year. He realised that he had lost 18kg (hopefully he would not add some weight during the Festive period), he had also invested about N450,000 and by January, he would be completing the last phase of his certification exam.
Obviously Seun felt fulfilled even though he did not achieve 100% of his set goal.
